The Makita 18 Volt LXT® cordless metal cutting saw features BL™ brushless motor that delivers a maximum speed of 4,200 RPM for fast cutting applications. Eliminating the carbon brushes, this BL™ brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life. It has Automatic Speed Change™ technology that helps to adjust cutting speed and torque during cutting for optimum performance. Tool powered by an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion slide style battery assures fastest charge time, more working time and minimal sitting time on the charger. This saw with battery, weighs only 6.8 lb and has rubberized soft grip handle that reduces user fatigue and provides increased comfort on the job. Tool featured with Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against over-loading, over-discharging and over-heating. This cutting saw is perfect for cutting various metal materials including thread rod, channel strut, conduit, pipe, square tubing, sheet metal and more. This compact and ergonomic tool has transparent chip collector box to capture debris produced while cutting and electric brake to reposition the tool quickly for maximum productivity.
